Vision To Reach 1000 Youths

Our vision is to reach 1000 youths in the UK and Europe, in the next 3 years; by championing careers in technology – showcasing positive role models and teaching skills for the workplace. The Women in Technology Survey (2019) suggests that only 17% of the UK tech workforce are women. Further to this, only 15% of the tech workforce are from BAME backgrounds (Tech nation report, 2018). Figures suggest that only 3% of the tech workforce are BAME women. The reasons for the disparity ranging from a lack of role models and mentors; to exposure to this career path, at school. This programme considers the needs and career plans for young pupils, as well as preparation for a career in technology and the wider workforce.

BuzzCoding is aiming to change the landscape and access into science, technology, engineering, and mathematics or STEM careers for underserved children. We are aiming to increase aspirations and develop technical and soft skills for the workplace and showcase positive role models in this generation. In addition to this, we aim to create a fun learning environment that children look forward to attending every week.
